“ No I didn't eat here, but our large family get together was here for lunch. Very crowded but it is quite a big seating capacity area. Starters, briyani juices all nothing much to complain about. Everyone enjoyed the food. The tea, and softy icecream was very good. And extremely crowded. The best thing valet parking service! ”
“ Over hyped “Bun butter Jam” didn’t taste up to the hype for me. Biryani was good. Kushka - plain biryani was not available (perhaps due to Ramzan). It was extremely crowded around 1:30pm, however they have enough seating capacity. Overall it was good and we loved the food. ”
“ Keeping up it's brand name, Bilal ECR is as good. We tried their biryani and curries and weren't disappointed. The biryani lives upto it's name at Bilal. Although they could have given more pieces of meat, the portion of rice is more than enough. Flavoured to perfection, it's a typical south indian muslim biryani! The accompaniment like baingan ka khatta and raita are also flavoursome. Sultani chicken starter is smoky and rich in flavour. We tried the chicken tikka masala and it was delicious. We didn't find the paya to our taste but the rotis were good. The turkish naan is like the khameeri roti we get up north. They also give kheer with the biryani and it's nice. Chai is the star of Bilal and lives upto it's hype at ECR too. Bun maska also is as good as it's parent branch. If you're touring ECR then this is the place you need to eat if you're hungry for good delicious food. Go and try. ”
“ Recently visited Mount Road Bilal - ECR for a late-night dinner around 10 PM, and it turned out to be a satisfying experience. The ambiance was pleasant and suitable for late diners, with a clean and comfortable setting. We started with Mutton Paya Gravy, paired with Idiyappam and Egg Appam. The paya was a bit on the spicier side, but it balanced beautifully with the softness of the idiyappam and the rich texture of the egg appam. The flavors were authentic and comforting, especially for those who enjoy traditional South Indian non-veg gravies. Next, we ordered the Mutton Chukka along with Parotta. The chukka was a highlight—freshly prepared, perfectly spiced, and cooked to tender perfection. It paired wonderfully with the flaky, well-made parotta. The service was decent, and the food arrived hot and on time despite the late hour. The total bill came to around ₹900, which I felt was reasonable given the quality and portion size. Overall, a great spot for late-night cravings, especially for meat lovers. Would definitely recommend trying the mutton dishes here! ”
“ If you’re in Chennai and craving flavour-packed biryani with a side of nostalgia, Mount Road Bilal ECR is a solid choice. Their mutton biryani is aromatic and flavourful, though a bit on the pricier side. The real hidden gem here is the bun butter jam with chai—simple yet unforgettable. Service is quick and courteous, and the place has that old-school, bustling charm. Not many vegetarian options, so it’s more of a non-veg paradise. Parking can be tricky during peak hours. What I loved: Mutton biryani full of flavour Bun butter jam & tea combo Fast service even when crowded What could improve: Slightly premium pricing More vegetarian choices Overall, a great spot if you want to enjoy a hearty plate of biryani and a classic Chennai tea-time snack. ”
